What does a typical workday look like to you?

They all vary depending on the customer or project I am involved in. I work in various roles from IT operations, application support, design of services/integrations, and advisory. In addition, I have 5 very skilled consultants that report to me. So, my typical workday will be a mix of activities mentioned above to some extend.

Which technologies do you work with?

Microsoft, Vmware, CheckPoint, SolarWinds Serv-U, Linux, Zabbix... to name the recent ones.

Can you tell us about some interesting projects you have worked on?

Started at a customer as a backup consultant which within 1 week turned into a full-time position – Project Technical Lead. Originally, our customer had a lot of activities in their backlog to improve and modernize their infrastructure and just one event caused that we were able to start planning the roll out all improvements.

Customer decided that it would be easier to start from nothing and build up to the level that was desired. Therefore, during this time, we deployed a new domain, migrated core services and users whilst making sure that we followed security recommendations and best practices. Whole network was redeployed to give another barrier to secure access to resources. It was a very interesting project as we delivered all of it in Agile way and the customer was pleased with the outcome.

Do you use AI in your job? If yes, how?

Yes. I use AI to create pictures that can be used when customer does not have the content I need. I also use AI to create scripts, this allows me to generate code more efficiently – this is an improvement from the past when all had to be written after hours of Googling :)

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

People and good atmosphere

It does not matter how much it is burning if you have a good team with you. It is fun working in an environment that is rapidly changing and tasks demand learning new things.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

I always define my satisfaction by two things: food and people. Food is good and people are great. 

Another thing that is great is the direction that Cegal is taking by putting focus on customers from renewable energy sector. I hope I will be able to contribute.

In recent times, I started coming to Cegal’s office (meaning, away from the customer) one day a week and I am getting the feeling of belonging, which has not always been the case while sitting 100% elsewhere. Feeling “at home” is what I am trying to say. This has also improved my feeling of being seen, since now I am present at the office. Furthermore, while being at the office I can contribute to others when they need assistance. I feel they appreciate my presence.

What is important for success in what you do and why?

Persistence, not giving up and not being afraid to ask for help when needed. Building relationships with either colleagues or customer since you never know when you will need their support. Continuous improvement in form of course / certification is a road to success when you want a better assignment or gain more responsibility.

I don't have to be what you want me to be.

Is there anything else we should know about you?

I am a hockey trainer without prior hockey (or ice skating) experience🏒⛸️
Love dancing, which can be clearly observed during company parties 🎸💃
