It's nice to start the day with a cup of coffee, checking e-mails and Jira before the serious work begins 😊 Jira is a tool we use as a service desk for EnergyX Dispatch customers to register support cases. The day-to-day tasks vary, depending on things like discovering a problem, implementing new functionality, or setting up new customers. We collaborate well to develop and maintain our products to provide the best possible experience for our customers. There are also meetings, testing, documentation, and training interspersed throughout. Recently, I have started training in Control, another EnergyX product, and it is both challenging and interesting.
I primarily work with Dispatch, which is a product developed by EnergyX that helps customers buy, sell, and transport natural gas 24/7. Lately, I have also been learning Control, one of the products in the EnergyX portfolio. Control provides customers with a comprehensive understanding of energy data in the value chain, from production to sales. Additionally, I work a lot with Azure, SQL databases, and Excel to configure customers since both Dispatch and Control use Azure as a platform. To set up a customer in our system, necessary data is entered into the SQL database, and Excel is used to keep track of customers and how they are set up.
For me, it is important to collaborate with colleagues to achieve our goals, as it allows us to deliver projects on time and see customers adopting them. Our technology is highly valuable to customers as it streamlines their tasks and provides them with better organization and user-friendliness. It's rewarding to see customers satisfied with the product, and it feels great to learn new technologies, tools, and gain valuable experiences every workday.
At EnergyX, we have department meetings once a month, where the entire department gathers to share our status and experiences from the past month. We always end with a Knowledge Sharing session, which is enjoyable, social, but also work-related. Waffles are made every Thursday, and the office is always filled with a pleasant aroma and engaging discussions.
It has been a great journey so far. Cegal provides me with a great work environment, talented colleagues, a learning-oriented workplace where I thrive and grow, and a variety of exciting tasks. It's wonderful that Cegal emphasizes the inclusion of women in technology, including through an internal group called Women at Cegal, and also by being a partner of the ODA network. I have attended a couple of seminars already, and they have been very inspiring.

My favorite apps are YouTube and Google Photos. There is a lot of interesting content on cooking, travel, conferences (TED), music, and especially karaoke on YouTube. I enjoy taking pictures and use Google Photos to store and edit them, so that app is also frequently used.
I first heard this on a skiing course. And it's funny that my boss occasionally asks me if I'm educated. The answer is never "yes."
The one who considers themselves fully educated is not educated, but finished.

My name, Bao, doesn't mean "soft bun" as many people think when they see it on restaurant menus 😊 Bao is an ancient Chinese word that means "treasure" or "precious." It was commonly used as a boy's name before, so when I was young, many people were surprised that a girl had the name Bao. My father gave me the name, and my full first name is "Gia Bao," which means "family's treasure."
I was born and raised in the city of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), where I had limited opportunities for outdoor activities at home. It was a big change for me to come to Norway. I enjoy being able to go hiking, cycling, skiing in the winter, and engaging in many other activities. Norway is beautiful, and nature is well-preserved, which I greatly appreciate. I'm impressed by the efforts of the Norwegian Trekking Association (Turistforeningen) in ensuring that everyone can enjoy nature in a safe manner. I also love traveling and experiencing different food cultures.
The picture was taken during the winter holiday. Here on the West Coast of Norway, we appreciate every day with clear weather, plenty of sunshine, and calm winds.
