Fagbævegelsens Hovedorganisasjon, Danish Trade Union Confederation (FH) had a document management system that was 15 years old and used SharePoint and MSSQL. The solution required changes and updates to avoid becoming outdated and inadequate. FH needed a robust IT setup to support their work as a mouthpiece for 1.3 million employees.
FH therefore chose to explore the market and found KMD WorkZone, which is a modern and flexible solution for document and case management. However, there was a challenge: KMD WorkZone had to run on an Oracle platform, and FH did not have Oracle expertise in-house. They needed a service partner who could help them with the switch from Microsoft to Oracle, as well as the operation and maintenance of their new solution.
FH was introduced to Cegal as a service partner, via the system supplier, because they have extensive experience with Oracle. Cegal helped FH implement and configure the Oracle part of KMD WorkZone. In addition, Cegal also took care of migrating all data from SharePoint and MSSQL to Oracle, as well as testing and optimizing the solution.
FH also entered into a Basecare Discover™ Managed Services agreement with Cegal, which provides them with high availability and performance for their entire database environment, preventing data loss and downtime. Cegal has developed a WorkZone module for their Managed Services platform Basecare Discover™, which gives FH a number of options. With solutions such as benchmarking of network performance and response time analyses, it is possible to form a better overview and identify potential bottlenecks in the database environment. This makes it easy to ensure stable response times and optimize resource allocation. Basecare Discover™ also provides FH with proactive monitoring of their systems so they don't have to worry about operations and can instead focus on their core tasks.
FH is very satisfied with their collaboration with Cegal. A change that has been challenging at times with new applications, but now FH has significantly improved their response times, which are rightly called eminent. And finally, they have not experienced any kind of downtime other than the planned ones.
This makes them feel safe that Cegal has control of their Oracle database and its connection with their KMD WorkZone application, and that they can always get quick and professional support if they need it.
Our KMD WorkZone is running as it should. There has been no downtime other than what is planned. The response times are outstanding. There is no one who can complain about response times from users anymore.
