What is SQL Health?

SQL Health is a Managed Services concept created by the Microsoft consulting firm Systemtech, which is now part of Cegal.

A Managed Services subscription such as SQL Health on a Microsoft SQL database means that experienced and focused DBAs are connected to and work flexibly with the rest of the IT organization, if necessary. The concept was created so that the customers could release resources internally, that they could be proactive and that together we could create as optimal a database operation as possible.

SQL Health is designed so that it:

• Automatically and continuously performs maintenance tasks,
  that makes the database perform at its best
• Continuously monitors and collects vital observations and data,
  that can also be analyzed in e.g. BI tools
• Gives specialists with high database knowledge the best starting point
  to e.g. optimize performance and troubleshoot, provide support
• Helps those who work with the database on a daily basis,
  by creating higher uptime and better scheduled service windows for security updates

Using a combination of set alarms and human experience/best practice, we are proactive in the installation, depending on which managed services packages have been purchased. The advantage is that small and large problems are detected and can be solved before they grow big and cause dissatisfied users, or even worse, database crashes.

The database, which can also be referred to as the heart of the IT installation, is used every day by vital applications and behind them, users who expect well-functioning and uninterrupted IT.
