What does a typical workday look like to you?

My typical workday begins with a walk with my dog Fry, which helps me to wake up and get some fresh air before heading to the office. Once I arrive the office, I attend the daily "stand-up" meeting to get updates from my colleagues and discuss our priorities for the day. After that we usually take a short coffee break before I start working on the most important task of the day. If I have planned meetings I prepare for them in advance. My daily tasks include working with GitLab pipelines, infrastructure provision with Terraform, and testing the code I am working on.

Which technologies do you work with?

As part of the platform team, I work on building the platform based on Microsoft Azure. We use various tools and technologies to achieve this, including Azure, Terraform, GitLab, Databricks, shell script, Python, Git, and YAML. We use infrastructure as code to manage our infrastructure, which allows us to easily track changes and collaborate efficiently.

You're going to participate in this year's JavaZone - what is Cegal going to showcase at their booth, and what are your expectations for the conference?

Cegal's Integration and Development departments will attend JavaZone this year. We will have a small stand where we will present Cegal's core values, talk about our projects and job opportunities in our company, and hold a prize draw for participants. JavaZone is one of the biggest IT conferences in Norway, and I am excited to listen to inspirational talks and learn new things that I can apply to the project. There is also a great opportunity to check out the latest IT trends and network with other professionals in the field. Overall, I am thrilled to represent Cegal at the conference and to learn as much as possible from the experience.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

For me, it's essential to see how my work makes a difference and helps others achieve their goals. I'm driven by the opportunity to learn something new every day and to see how technology can transform businesses and industries. Besides, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with colleagues and helping them grow. Last year, I created an interactive Git course for colleagues. This year, I participated as a coach in the GitHub hackathon, where I mentored others and shared my expertise.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

I'm fortunate to work with highly skilled and motivated colleagues who are experts in their fields. We have a friendly working environment that encourages collaboration and growth.

What`s your favorite podcast?

I prefer listening to audiobooks because they allow me to dive deeper into the world of literature while also engaging in other activities such as walking the dog or exercising. The last audiobook I listened to was "Under the Dome", a thrilling horror story written by Stephen King.

Which app do you use the most, and why?

This year, I discovered an excellent macOS terminal called Warp, which has quickly become my go-to app. Warp is a fast and efficient console that comes with built-in AI, making work much easier. It's a must-have app for anyone who uses the console frequently.

Is there anything else fun we should know about you?

Outside of work, I enjoy playing board games with my friends. We have a varied game collection, from casual games like "Wingspan" to more advanced games like "Frosthaven." Board games are a great way to meet friends and have some fun and competition.
Another hobby of mine is reading. I recently started a book club with some friends, which provides an excellent opportunity to share thoughts and discuss ideas. We explore different genres and authors, which allows us to broaden our literary horizons.
Finally, I'm a fan of video games. I played a lot of “Dota 2” and "Civilization" games series. Currently, I'm playing "Baldur's Gate 3".
