What does a typical workday look like to you?

My workday starts with a hot cup of Masala tea and the daily stand-up meeting with the team.
The day-to-day work is pretty much any one of these items:
- Freeplay testing to ensure the product works as it is supposed to work
- Report bugs and verify them
- Identify test scenarios, write test cases and unit tests
- Meetings (if any)

Trust me, it is not as straightforward as it looks though 😉

Which technologies do you work with?

Currently, I am working on Blueback Avary. Since joining Cegal (Blueback Reservoir back then), I had worked on several Petrel plug-ins (ODiSI, SRC, RockPhysics etc).

We use Microsoft Visual Studio to write C# NUnit tests. Recently, I wrote some bUnit tests for Blazor components that was something new for me.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

"What drives me to do a better job is my team’s trust on my ability to do challenging tasks. It keeps me motivated. 😊"

I had the opportunity to be involved in several interesting projects right from the inception phase to release. It has tremendously helped my learning and growth in Cegal. It gave me the confidence to plan and manage the testing of big projects. It is very satisfying to see how the products evolve and get better with each new version.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

"The team I work with - Sharp minds that I get to learn a lot from."

Supportive colleagues and flexible work culture. As a new mother, I could keep my sanity while managing both work and home 😊

I have basically lived my whole life hearing this from my family 😊

Is there anything else we should know about you?

In London, we have a flexible work system where we get every second Friday off. Before 2020, all those Fridays were my me-time to be a Tourist in London. I would go to Central London and walk around discovering a new thing or a place every time!

I love to travel and always make a promise to visit the place again (which never happens ☹). There is so much to see but the time always is short!

Fun Fact about me:
I watch the same movie over and over again. I have a list of movies from every decade starting from 1950s that I keep on repeating.
Also, the movies have to fall under these categories:
- Feel-good movies
- Dog movies
- Animated
- Periodic dramas
Does it count as fun though! 😉

This is from a trip to Dorset, which is a county in southwest England. It’s known for the Jurassic Coast, a long stretch on the English Channel where the cliffs contain many fossils, and rock formations show millions of years of geological history.
