What does a typical workday look like for you?

The time my day starts depends on whether I drop off my son at daycare before work or not. Either way, I take the bus and light rail to Danmarksplass, and I love the half-hour it takes so I can fully wake up 🚌
If I'm on call I'm available for various alarms or issues that arise. I'm responsible for ensuring that the appropriate staff handles different alarms and issues during that time, should the alarms be genuine. With experience, I become familiar with what different alarms mean, whether they are false or not ⏰
Otherwise, I shadow different colleagues to receive more training, look into various certifications I can pursue, and participate in meetings.

Which technologies do you work with?

I mainly work with Linux and Oracle Databases. Some clients run their systems on Windows and Azure, so it's a vast spectrum. We also have a new client where we'll be running Azure applications, so that's very exciting!
We work on monitoring these systems. The extent of monitoring varies from client to client, and no two cases are the same.

What is important for you and Cegal to achieve success?

The desire to learn. There will always be something new, new systems, new solutions, new upgrades. Stay up to date 😊

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

My talented colleagues give me suitably challenging tasks. I learn something new every day, and it's the colleagues and the workplace that make me get up in the morning. We have a very social workplace, and we help each other out whenever needed.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

Definitely the employees at the office in Bergen, and in my department - Hubro!

Thanks to them, I've learned a lot about what Cegal works on. Of course, I have a lot to learn, so I look forward to going to the office every day.

Which app do you use the most, and why?

TikTok is my guilty pleasure app. There, I find everything under the sun, such as IT hacks.

Is there anything else fun we should know about you?

I love gaming - currently, I'm really into city-building games 🎧💻🌆
I also listen to a lot of audiobooks (I prefer listening to Harry Potter over and over again). I spend a lot of time with my son and partner.

I laugh at everything and everyone, and have a very weird sense of humor. I'm the best Mario Kart player in the office - or at least I think so 😉
