What does a typical workday look like to you?

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, but one thing remains constant: engaging in meetings and discussions with colleagues from various departments. It's also essential to focus on the continuous development, improvement, and advancement of our products, ensuring that they resonate with the market and meet customer demands. Additionally, I find great joy in connecting with our customers through regular meetings.

Which technologies do you work with?

As a Product Manager, my role doesn't involve directly working with technologies in the same way as a developer. However, I closely collaborate with our skilled development team to ensure the successful implementation of our projects. (Taking the opportunity to praise the development team, they are incredibly skilled!) For my part, there is a lot of interaction with Microsoft's products and technologies, for example, Azure, as one of "my" products – High-Performance Computing – is built on it.

What will be important in your job going forward? What do you want to achieve?

As a Product Manager, one of my main priorities is to meticulously prioritize and manage the product roadmap. It is essential that the roadmap is not only clear and concise but also aligned with the ever-changing needs and demands of our customers and the market. This serves as the solid foundation for our ultimate goal, which is to consistently develop products that truly exceed our customers' expectations and provide them with utmost satisfaction.

You are going to participate at Nettkonferansen next week,  what expectations do you have?

I am looking forward to Nettkonferansen. It will be interesting, and I hope to get to know the industry, the people, and what is important regarding IT solutions. I hope to receive many valuable insights that I can bring back to product development. We are very focused on getting feedback from customers and using it in the design and improvement of our solutions.

You are the product manager for Connect@Plant, can you tell a bit about what this is?

Connect@Plant is an innovative security solution that we have developed to provide effortless and secure access to critical infrastructure. This cutting-edge product is designed with a strong focus on user-friendliness, allowing users to take control of their own security needs without relying on the IT department. With its advanced device management, user-controlled access, activity monitoring, traceability, and secure file transfer capabilities, Connect@Plant offers a seamless and empowering experience. Originally created to meet the stringent security requirements of the oil and gas industry, this remarkable solution has now started to make waves in other sectors, including the power industry. Looking ahead to 2024, we are committed to constantly advancing and enhancing Connect@Plant to cater to the ever-evolving security needs of various industries.

Do you use AI in your job? How?

I use ChatGPT as a support tool for ideas, text, and sketches. And AI integration in our products is exciting!

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

I find great joy in driving value creation for both Cegal and our customers. It's fun to collaborate with colleagues and customers from different parts of the world, working together to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional solutions.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

The people! There are nice and talented people in Cegal, and the working environment is incredibly good.

Which app do you use the most, and why?

The photo app! I take a lot of pictures.

What is your favorite quote?

I haven't tried that, so I'll probably manage it.

Is there anything else fun we should know about you?

One of my greatest passions lies in building and creating. To pursue this interest, I have constructed a personal workshop where I indulge in working with various materials like wood and metal. Currently, I am engrossed in the exciting endeavor of rebuilding a motorcycle.

Something about me that not many know? It might be that for a period many years ago, I had a hobby as a job, where I designed and built home theaters and sound systems in private homes.
