I start the day by making coffee for my partner and help the kids to get ready for school. Then I take a cup of coffee and a morning meeting with my team, followed by the day's «stand-up» for my own project. Then it's development of data pipelines, analysis cubes, and Power BI for the rest of the day.
In my role, I work with many different technologies to name a few, Azure, Databricks, PySpark, PowerShell, Data Lakehouse, and Power BI. Much of my job is about guiding in Data Architecture - what architecture to use and how to use it. In addition to the above, I also work a lot with automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
I must say that I am really proud of my latest assignment. The customer previously had their BI solution on-premises, but we migrated it first to AWS and then to Azure due to a business acquisition, which led to the formation of a completely new team within Azure. I worked on this project for almost two years, which is a relatively short time to move between two different cloud solutions. I am not only proud of the project but also happy to work with the latest technology. It was really a fun and exciting challenge.
"My curiosity about technology and being able to help people."
Well, my great interest in technology really drives me at work. My role as Team Lead also suits me very well because it means that I not only get to help our customers, but I also get to work with my amazing team and help them create good results.
What I like most about working at Cegal/SQL Service is the great team of talented colleagues who are always willing to help.
We have a chat where I can type in a question and almost always get help within ten minutes. It is also exciting to hear about all the "war stories" and learn about who has encountered the most difficult problems.
Another big advantage is that we have many different clients, which means that as a consultant I always have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects and don't feel like I'm stuck in the same place.

Keep it simple!
I think it's a very good expression, because why make things more difficult? Well, better to keep it simple and to the point.

Absolutely! My partner and I have a small croft from before and last summer we bought a small forest property. I find it very satisfying to be able to replace the computer screen with hands-on work. Renovating old houses also involves a lot of problem solving, which I find interesting. We have started with simple measures and take on bigger and more complicated projects the more we learn. In addition, it is interesting to understand the old craftsmanship principles surrounding construction and how the use of low-tech solutions in old houses can still be very functional today.
Fredrik enjoying some gardening!
