What does a typical workday look like for you?

In my daily routine, I enjoy the perfect balance of working from home and being in the office, a combination that is invaluable to me. On my work-from-home days, I start the day by taking the dog for a walk and enjoying a cup of coffee. These days involve either a lot of meetings or back-office work in ServiceNow. It's great to have a dog that needs a walk, providing me with the tranquility to focus on more substantial tasks. And when I'm in the office, I take the opportunity to socialize with my colleagues, participating in face-to-face meetings and being available for those who need assistance.

Which technologies do you work with?

I am a self-proclaimed super user in the NextGen module of ServiceNow, where I handle the counting and invoicing of our valued customers. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with Salesforce and I provide assistance in Unit4.

Over the years, I have gained a good understanding of how our various systems interact, allowing me to provide advice and support in many different areas of the organization.

Which systems are important for you and Cegal to achieve success?

SNOW NextGen module - In this module, we implement an automated system to track and count our Cloud products, allowing us to generate dynamic invoicing data for our valued customers worldwide. Our skilled technicians retrieve data from various system sources, which we then consolidate into a single system. While BizTalk has been responsible for handling integrations in the past, we are now collaborating with the Digitalization Office to transition many of these integrations to CAIH (Cegal Azure Integration HUB).

In my department, we ensure the accuracy of the automated counting process and address any challenges that may arise. It's an exhilarating endeavor as we gain invaluable insights into the seamless integration of technical delivery within our operations and finance departments.

Do you use AI in your job? How?

Probably more than I'm aware of, but consciously, I've tried to avoid using AI like ChatGPT. 
What I use AI for is translating longer texts or words I'm unsure about. Even though the potential with AI is unimaginably vast, I get stuck on the ethical aspect and the privacy of the people using it.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

Having the freedom and trust to do what I consider important for the company is a driving force for me. I enjoy that our systems are organized, and I can contribute to gaining more control over Cegal's expenses. For me, the definition of "enjoyable" extends beyond social activities. It encompasses the moments when I sit alone, with music in my ears, effortlessly navigating through the intricacies of the systems that quietly operate in the background. Knowing that these systems have the power to simplify the daily tasks of my colleagues within the company fills me with a sense of satisfaction and purpose.

I'd like to express my appreciation for my colleagues in the Finance department, we are good in uplifting and supporting one another.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

The people and all the opportunities. The fact that there are many social meeting places and that we have room for different interests. It's also incredibly exciting that Cegal is a company constantly evolving, and I have the chance to be part of the journey.

You are the leader of WineClub@Cegal; can you tell us more about that?

I have a deep passion for wine, (grapes, production, and different styles), and during the pandemic, I started WineClub@Cegal. I find it rewarding to initiate events that can increase knowledge about the world of wine 🍷🍇

Now we are a passionate group of wine enthusiasts at the Forus office. Our love for wine sparked conversations about organizing wine tastings even before the pandemic hit. From those initial discussions, our wine club took off, and we have successfully organized a series of exciting events, thanks to the creative ideas and initiatives of our colleagues.

This fall, 14 colleagues traveled to Piemonte, Italy, for a packed program of wine tasting, truffle hunting, and sightseeing. Additionally, we've organized sparkling wine tastings at the office, wine tastings at Gaffel & Karaffel, WSET 1 certification at Jarles Vinskole, and I've conducted wine courses for colleagues.

It would be great if people from other Cegal locations could join us too!

Which app do you use the most, and why?

It's challenging to answer; I use social media and other essential apps that I assume everyone else uses. I can highlight Nordnet. In recent years, I have started to invest in funds and stocks.

Is there anything else fun we should know about you?

I have a secret passion for gaming. I enjoy a wide range of games within the categories of strategy, simulation, point-and-click, action-adventure, and online multiplayer on PS5 and PC. It's a great way to unwind while also providing mental stimulation 💻🎧

And I have a dog, Atlas, who is a 1-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, whom I spend a lot of time with🐶

Otherwise, I'm terribly bad at small talk, and I find alone time very enjoyable to recharge my batteries ⚡😀
