What does a typical workday look like to you?

There is no typical workday, however, it is typical that I have many meetings. If you ask my husband, he thinks that my work is to have meetings 😊 I like to switch between tasks, which gives me a different perspective and I feel more productive. 

I’m involved in multiple projects with various tasks. For example, managing the onboarding process of the application into the customer portfolio, vendor meetings, and identifying necessary work to be done on the commercial and technical side. Making sure that all is implemented and tested before the due date, mapping access needs, and making sure that everyone has access to the right items. 
I am also working on a variety of customer projects where setting up repository and solution architecture is needed.

Which technologies do you work with?

I’m bridging the gap between iServer (Enterprice Architecture System) and PowerBI (data and analytics reporting tool)
iServer - where we have a customer repository with information about their applications and related vendors, locations, and so on. 

PowerBI is where all the magic happens, and customers get a beautiful, dynamic and clickable report. Based on this, they have better control over their data and can also make better decisions.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

To be challenged and solve problems in customer cases, mostly in Power BI.

You told your "Resilience" story when Cegal recently organized the ODA Network Meeting, can you tell us a little more about this?

My resilience story is about "no straight line", it's about overcoming the challenges along the way. 
At ODA Sør-Vest event at Cegal I told my resilience story for the first time in my life in public. It was super scary, and completely out of my comfort zone.

I did this because:
•    Some stories need to be told for inspiration, to give others the strength to dare to try something new and to reach their dream 
•    It feels amazing afterward
•    Now I believe that I can reach other planets or universes 

So don't be afraid to ask questions to different people (no matter gender, job title, etc), and don't give up. Dare to try something new, it might turn into your passion. Find what you love to do and just try to do it. And remember caring and using empathy towards others is amazing, but do not forget about yourself, you are the most important person in YOUR life.

I`m so proud of myself, that I said YES to this challenge and to be on stage, and that I dared to go outside my comfort zone. So always be curious and dare to try something new, dare to ask, and sometimes just say YES 😊

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

Flexibility - meaning that management trusts me so I can perform the work MY WAY. Cegal is a a place for creativity and with fantastic colleagues.

You attended the conference European Women in Tech in Amsterdam this year, how was that?

The keyword of the conference was "Resilience" but I would like to add a few more thoughts:

• A career journey is not a straight line. 
  Be your authentic self at work - stay true to yourself and your uniqueness
• Believe in yourself - no matter what
• Nothing is impossible until it is done
• Leaders don`t create followers, they create more leaders. Build a strong network where we empower and pull each other to the top.
• Become a data-driven organization by setting focus on the people - a strong data culture puts people at the center.

Or I would say “why not?” Why not implement this solution now? Why we are hesitating, trying, to implement something new? Why wait? Be bold and ask questions.

I came to Norway almost 10 years ago, and I completely fell in love with this country 😊
It took me a while to get a stable anchor here, but that's another story.

Thanks to my determination, resilience, and faith - I am now where I am today!
