Introduction 

This Privacy Notice represents the full online Privacy Policy applicable to Cegal’s online activities. It will explain the types of data Cegal collects from you and how that information is used. Our website is governed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Cegal is to be considered the data controller in this case, and therefore, will determine why and how personal data submitted online will be processed.We understand that you care about your privacy and we take that seriously. We also recognize that keeping your personal information private is an ongoing responsibility, so we pledge to update this Privacy Notice whenever we adopt new privacy policies or add new personal data practices.

Collection of Personal Data 

Much of the information on our website is available without having to release your personal data. You are also able to only enter a limited amount of required data when requesting extra material, such as trials and newsletters, if you so wish. Some information is necessary to collect, however. You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications at any time.  

Explicit consent to submit and store personal data

If you wish to get access to resources or services (such as e-books, product sheets, subscriptions and the like), we use forms to record and store this type of information.

Your personal information will not be sold or shared with third parties.

Upon registration of personal data as mentioned above, we require your explicit consent to accept the terms as described herein. Thus, the information you provide will be recorded and stored.

How Cegal stores and make use of personal data

Your personal data is stored and used in accordance with the purposes stated herein and in a safe manner. Examples:

  • We may record your visit to our website and data you submit into forms, downloads etc.
  • We may record whether you receive, open and read emails sent from us

Cegal may use this information to evaluate and improve our communication (blog posts, content offers, emails, etc.) and to provide ongoing services.

In some cases, the information may also be used for direct inquiries, via email, phone or other platforms/channels. Such as:

  • If you download content (e.g. an ebook, guide or similar) that indicates an interest in other relevant content. Thus, you may receive a follow-up email with tips, such as blog posts or other content offers
  • If you consistently have shown interest in Cegal´s content and services that indicates a strong interest in our services. Thus, we may call you or send an email in order to discuss a possible business opportunity

Webstore – when you register as a new customer in our webstore, we collect your name, company name, organization number, email, address, and phone number. As a user of Cegal´s website and/or services you have the right, at any time, to access your personal data, ask for deletion and/or modification, or withdraw your previously submitted consent.

Cegal´s role as a data controller

All non-personal and personal data is stored on secure servers by Cegaland HubSpot (the software used for the website, CRM and communication).

Cegal may also use subcontractors for managing the website and/or deliver relevant services hereto. Cegal is solely responsible as a data controller.

Use of Personal Data 

Like most other websites, Cegal.com collects certain information automatically. Examples of this information may include IP addresses, geographic location, browser type, device screen resolution, device type, preferred language, etc. Because we use a third party to collect this data to optimize the end user experience, please visit https://www.hotjar.com/privacy to read their privacy policy.

We will only use personal data for the purpose it was collected for. Access to this data is restricted to personnel with appropriate authorization and a clear need to use that data.

Personal data will only be shared with third parties when it is necessary to provide our services. We occasionally use third parties to work on our behalf and we will share only the necessary information in these circumstances. We will not disclose your data to any third parties for the purpose of marketing. 

Cegal has adopted a set of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) incorporated in the GDPR for the purpose of authorizing global transfers within the different Cegal locations. This allows us to transfer personal data outside of the EU/EEA, based on our internal practices, while protecting the privacy of data subjects. 

Data Storage and Retention 

Personal data is stored by Cegal AS on its servers and our cloud-based servers. Your data is retained only for as long as it is necessary for the intended purpose. Cegal maintains technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect the privacy of your personal data. We make sure to update and test our security technology regularly.
