She adds that the TechMentor program is great for a junior.
"As a newcomer, you have to learn a lot. It's interesting and helps you to develop, but it can be a little overwhelming and confusing. Which technologies should you focus on? What to choose? Then it is fantastic to have a senior who you can talk to and who gives good advice", Bako continues.
Agnija Bako is originally from Latvia and started in Cegal fall 2021 and is now working on solutions related to Microsoft Azure. She says the TechMentor program was one of the reasons she chose to start working at Cegal. Many people talk highly of the program.

"The TechMentor program makes me more valuable to customers. The program is a very smart way to treat the consultants. As a consultant, you are supposed to be an expert and that means you must be up to date with different disciplines. With the TechMentor program, education and training have been put into system", Bako continues.
She says that during her first six months as an employee in Cegal, she has participated in more conferences, boot camps and workshops than she had done so far in her career. The developer from Latvia says that she gained a lot of trust and responsibility as soon as she started in Cegal, and that she learned a lot of new things every day.

I have not seen any other technology companies that invest so much in their consultants. The TechMentor program makes Cegal even more competitive when it comes to attracting good people", says Agnija Bako.
Arturo Viveros is Head of Integration & Development at Cegal and he is one of the initiators of the TechMentor program. He says that the idea for the program came as a result of most customers wanting the senior consultant with "at least 40 years of experience", while Cegal also hires many consultants straight from university or with a few years of experience. That leaves a gap between the customers' wishes and the profile of available resources.
"How could we assure our customers that a consultant with less experience could still deliver work with top quality? That was when we found out that if we give them a TechMentor, and explain it to the customers, then both the consultants and the customers will experience a sense of security", says Viveros, who is also a mentor.
The plan is for all newly hired junior consultants to have their own TechMentor. Viveros says that the mentor program has made it possible for new employees to reach the level of experience customers demand more quickly. In addition, employees are more satisfied.
