The SYSCO CEO is hereby nominated to win the award for the second consecutive year. He is nominated for his ardent commitment to a more diverse work environment. Ringås can boast good results for the diversity work he has done in all the companies he has worked at.
After Dagfinn joined SYSCO in 2019, the company has set specific targets for diversity, defined clear strategic KPIs and successfully made changes. We currently have 43% women in the management team and 60% of new recruitments so far in 2021 are women, which is more than doubled compared to 2020. We also have employees from over 20 different nationalities, with great variation in age, gender and background.
«Wow, this was a pleasant surprise! It is incredibly nice to receive such recognition, first and foremost because it means that many of the strong women we have at SYSCO are really starting to make a name for themselves in our industry. At the same time, it is very nice to be nominated for an award in an area I have been passionate about for many years. Unfortunately, fighting for diversity is not always easy. You have to lean in, put it at the top of the agenda and work relentlessly over time to achieve results. Because of that, it means a lot to get a recognition like this. I hope the visibility around the award can inspire more men to place diversity on top of their agenda and reflect on their own bias»
