“When we started up in 2018, we entered an IT systems and services agreement with a local IT supplier. In the last couple of years, we have had extreme growth, both in Norway and globally. We simply outgrew our IT supplier and needed a new one,” starts Kjartan Tjessem Østrådt, IT Manager at Easee.
Easee needed a technology partner who could support Easee's larger and more complex operations and could provide support far beyond Norway's borders.
Easee was founded in January 2018 in Stavanger by three Norwegian entrepreneurs, and the idea of creating the world’s smartest electric vehicle charger. The charger quickly became popular and has been warmly received by both installers and private customers. The strong demand made it possible to expand the investment significantly, and the company is now at the global forefront with their innovative solutions and technology for charging and power management.
The vision is to shape the future of electricity

Since its early beginning, the company has grown from three to 350 employees and has opened sales offices in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Germany. Easee develops, designs, and manufactures all its products in Scandinavia and currently exports to 17 countries in Europe. The company’s bold ambition is to become one of the largest companies in green technology in Europe within five years, and one of the largest in the world over the next 10 years.
In order to achive their ambitious growth targets, they needed a a solid technology partner. Kjartan Tjessem Østrådt and Easee found what they were looking for in Cegal, in competition with several major Nordic and global IT companies.
“Initially, we regarded Cegal first and foremost as an IT specialist for the oil and gas sector, but learned that the company has changed a lot and is a service provider for several industries,” says Tjessem Østrådt. He adds two other reasons why Cegal was chosen as a supplier:
“When Cegal and SYSCO merged, it became a technology supplier with a focus on solutions for the green shift in the energy industry. In addition, we wanted to support the local business community. The head office of Cegal is within walking distance of our own head office.”
Cegal delivers client operations, service desk, security solutions, networks and services based on Cetegra Cloud Platform to Easee.
Cegal started by assisting Easee in improving the company's IT security.
“Now we feel that IT security has been handled and we can sleep better at night,” says IT Manager Tjessem Østrådt.
Security is a major field that has high priority. We are very grateful for the help we have received from Cegal.

The IT manager at Easee says that Cegal's solutions for client operations – Cetegra Client – have made the working day more efficient for the employees. One example is Cegal's Cetegra Workspace, where Easee employees get access to apps and services. The Workspace also makes it efficient to give new and existing employees all over the world access to all the systems they need. Since Cetegra Workspace is a single sign-on solution, there is also better control over who has access to the various Easee solutions.
“Easee is also looking forward to discussing more solutions from Cegal's portfolio,” Tjessem Østrådt tells.
I feel that we have only begun to scratch the surface on how Cegal can help us and how we can develop solutions together for the green shift and jointly work to shape the power grid of the future.
