To us, sustainability is an essential part of our business. It is a necessity for reaching our ambitious goals, and it is important for our integrity and our values to be a responsible and sustainable company. Also, as a portfolio company of private equity firm Norvestor, we have committed to publishing an annual sustainability report that describes the relevance of the work within Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) in the industry we operate within. The report highlights key ESG topics, assesses performance on those topics, and provides an action plan to identify opportunities for value creation. The annual report monitors progress and keeps us focused on achieving the goals of becoming a more sustainable and future-oriented company over time, and the parameters we measure by are the highest standards of our industry
Our sustainability strategy and the way we work with these topics are organized into three pillars, each corresponding with one of the letters in the acronym ESG.
These pillars are guideposts when we decide where to put our efforts to make a difference, and we have KPIs (Key performance indicators) that let us know if we are on the right path. We have defined focus areas within each of these pillars to define where we have decided to put our efforts for this year.
We have a sustainability committee in place to improve coordination and awareness and to assist the various teams in the company with information and activities in achieving our goals in the sustainability strategy.
Below we will touch upon some of our most important ESG work. Click here to download the Cegal Sustainability Report 2023.
Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are inherent parts of our work for increased sustainability. Remembering that the diversity of our workforce, our customer base, and for society as such is a valuable asset, not just something we need to adjust to and be mindful about. Diversity in the tech industry has for quite some time been narrowed down to working towards an improved balance between men and women among employees. Whilst still an important topic, we believe that we need to broaden the perspective of diversity from a binary view on gender, to include a wider range of aspects, such as gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, cultural and religious background, people with visible or invisible disabilities, and mental health. This is called intersectionality.
We aim to:
Cegal strives to be carbon neutral by 2024 for its operations. By creating a roadmap for emission reduction, including procurement of renewable energy and obtaining Guarantee of Origin certificates, energy consumption is 98% based on renewables, and we closely monitor all aspects of our energy consumption.
Cegal achieved the ISO 140001 certification in 2021, covering environmental topics and standards.
We aim to:
The energy sector is undergoing a significant digital transformation, focusing highly on automation and software-based solutions. The Cegal offerings are highly relevant for this transformation, and the Cegal products and services get exposed to further optimization based on this trend.

Being transparent on both success and areas of improvement is crucial when working with sustainability. We know that we have put down a lot of hard work on sustainability, and we know that there are areas in which we need to improve. To us transparency management is crucial and we have defined a project to be working to ensure that we are compliant with the requirements set out in the Transparency Act.
We aim to include the following in this work
