Statnett is a Norwegian state-owned enterprise which develops, owns and operates the central power distribution grid in Norway, including cables and power lines to other countries. Statnett is responsible for ensuring that there is a balance between consumption and production at all times, so that we as consumers have constant access to electricity, all year round.
Statnett operates around 11,000 kilometres of high-voltage power lines and 150 power stations across the country.
For decades, Cegal has been delivering IT solutions to the energy industry and is very familiar with Statnett. Cegal and our partners are the main supplier of development services to Statnett, and we also work with them within infrastructure. As part of this, we help Statnett with regard to data integrations and provide assistance with advanced and predictive maintenance.
Statnett owns Elhub, which is a key IT system which streamlines the power market in Norway. As regards Elhub, we provide assistance with regard to development, management and operations. Since autumn 2020, Cegal and Basefarm have had primary responsibility for operating, monitoring and securing Elhub.
