What is Solar energy?

Solar energy is the energy derived from the sun's radiation. It is a renewable and sustainable source of power that can be harnessed for various uses.

There are two main methods for capturing and utilizing solar energy:

  1. Photovoltaic (PV) Systems: These systems use solar panels composed of semiconductor cells that convert sunlight directly into electricity. The energy can be used immediately, stored in batteries, or fed into the power grid.
  2. Solar Thermal Systems: These systems capture and concentrate sunlight to generate heat. The heat can be used directly for applications such as water heating, space heating, and industrial processes or to produce steam that drives turbines to generate electricity.

Solar energy is abundant, and clean, and reduces dependence on fossil fuels, contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and a decrease in environmental pollution.

Cegal and Solar energy

Cegal is Scandinavia's most specialized supplier of technology to the energy sector. By drawing on our extensive knowledge and many years of experience in the industry’s value chain and the opportunities that lie in the introduction of new technology, we help to increase the benefits of digitalization for over 80 companies and organizations around the world within the production, transport, and sale of energy.

We collect and store data both from the industry's core systems and other relevant data sources. We use this data to provide new, valuable insights that both streamline tasks and improve results.

The data can be used in:

  • Automation of work processes
  • Visualizations that provide better support in decision-making processes
  • Advanced analyses
