The workday often starts a bit hectic, with getting the kids out and delivered to kindergarten. When I get to the office, it’s reading e-mail and getting an overview before “stand-up” with the rest of the team. The rest of the day is very varied, but it involves a lot of development of new functionality, solving problems and bugs, helping colleagues, reviewing code that others have made, customer meetings and planning meetings for changes and new functionality. In recent years I have worked a lot with our customer Vigilo.
I work primarily with back-end technologies in .NET Framework and .NET Core, with C# as the programming language. In addition, there are many different technologies and solutions in connection with this. Examples of this can be Azure, MySQL databases, Oracle databases, PowerShell, Jenkins for build and deploy (CI/CD).
In addition, as a technical architect, you are in touch with the technologies in the whole system, including front-end and integrations. So here are HTML, CSS, Javascript and React in front-end, as well as Java and Camel in integrations.
“It’s fun to find good solutions to the customer’s challenges and problems, both technically and functionally. This fortunately often involves challenging myself and learning something new.”

It is also important and exciting to be involved in most parts of a project, including planning, customer meetings, specification of technical and functional solutions - and as a developer, of course the implementation itself.
Based on the feedback I received when I received the recognition, it means that you have “the customer’s best” as your clear goal. So yes, I always want to solve professional challenges and create good solutions, so that the customer meets their requirements and experiences success. I must also say that such recognition is very nice to receive, and gives a confirmation that you are doing a good job.
The best thing about working at Cegal is varied tasks, freedom to be able to control your own everyday life, and the influence we have on our own career direction - the opportunity to learn new things.
“In Cegal we have a good and solid management that listens to what we have to say, therefore the company feels “small” even though it has become quite large.”

I like Instagram best, where the instants are really saved
I like projects at home. Among other things, I spent all my free time in 3 years on a complete renovation of the house, everything from drainage to listing (the only exception is painting, which I strongly dislike, haha). I grew up in the countryside and have been involved in all kinds of things throughout my childhood. I think it’s fun to be useful, whether it’s in the woods with a chainsaw, with a tractor, or at home with a hammer and saw.
Otherwise, my interests have been a lot of computer-related. I have run a computer club for children and young people, and been the leader for several computer events, GameCage, and Destination Six.
"In addition, my good Cegal colleague Knut Ivar has revived a hunting license that has been dormant since 2005. So this fall it has also gone a bit into hunting for deer among other things.”
