What does a typical workday look like to you?

The day usually starts by checking whether anything special has happened, following up on any urgent matters, and quickly making a plan for the day based on what is on the program. It is usually a mix of meetings, conversations, and work in front of the PC. There are always discussions, pleasant banter with colleagues, and laughter in between.

Which technologies do you work with?

No particular technology, but I work a lot with applications used in sales and in the power industry.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?

I like to see concrete results and learn new things. It is rewarding when my expertise can contribute to improvement, and to creating something that others can benefit from. But the most fun is the collaboration with others.

You work with the power industry - what are the most exciting challenges the industry faces today? And what do you think about the green shift?

I think it is about time for the green shift, and I think it is going too slowly. Fortunately, there has been some momentum in the development of renewable power, especially wind power, which is my area of ​​expertise. High power prices, which we have seen both in Europe and here in Norway recently, will probably further increase interest in renewable power and have also put greater pressure on the faster development of the power grid.

Increased development speed, uncertainty related to power prices, rapidly developing technology, and changes in the structure of the power market (such as for example, that ordinary consumers can also be producers by having solar cells on the roof) create more complexity. This leads to increased requirements for efficiency, flexibility, and the ability to make rapid changes for all players in the industry.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

There are three things:

1. Pleasant colleagues
2. A lot of relevant expertise in IT and energy, there are people who know something about most things
3. IT and support work impressively well. It is both practical in everyday work and good to see that we are good at what we offer customers

What is your favorite quote?

Just do it!
It's better to regret something you've done than to regret everything you didn't do!

Is there anything else we should know about you? 

Love mountain hikes, especially in northern Norway, I can be both moved and intoxicated by being on mountain tops. I like variety and trying new things. Combined with a poor sense of direction, it often turns out to be slightly different, longer, and more exciting trips than originally intended.

I became, like many others, hooked on sourdough and plants during the COVID period, and that interest remained.
Everyday activities are cycling to/from work, volleyball, and yoga. I am a soccer mom, but I`m more concerned with cheering and shouting and drumming and chattering and selling cakes than with the soccer itself.
