Team Lead Integration & Development
I say Bergen, but I'm born in Stockholm. British citizen!
1 year
I work closely with my management team in Integration & Development. We have standup meetings in the morning, then various strategy and resourcing meetings. I am also involved in recruitment, and have meetings related to that. Then I follow up with customers to get an understanding of how they are doing, and what their needs are.
The most important part of my job is my team which consists of 15 very skilled consultants. I work to set up good routines to follow up everyone in a good way, ensure that they are on projects where they thrive, get to use their skills and learn new things. It's important that I am a person that they can talk to no matter what, and that they feel confident that I take them seriously and follow them up in a good way. Purely mercantile, approval of timesheets, vacations, expenses etc is also included in my weekly work tasks.
No two days are alike, and I like that about my job.

As a team lead, I don't work very hands-on with technology anymore. I have worked for many years with BizTalk and Azure API Management, and enjoyed both.
We have one of Norway's strongest and internationally recognized data integration environments. If you want to benefit from your data, you need to get hold of it.
I think it's fun when you achieve results that that makes people happy, satisfied and smiling.

I like the size of the company, it means that there is less of a distance between different departments and levels in the organization. I have met a lot of nice and talented people here, and that inspires me. We are a company with good goals and visions, that is important to me.

Apart from Messenger and Whatsapp that I use for daily communication, I probably use Flightradar24 the most due to my interest in aviation, Strava due to my interest in cycling, and Skyscanner for my travels. Lately, I have "unfortunately" had to be an active user of "Switch Parental Control" to monitor and control the boys' time use on Nintendo. The app that is used the most is maybe Pokemon GO, but then it's not me who holds the phone😀
I yngre dager var jeg veldig glad i kinesiske visdomsord, men jeg har ikke et favorittsitat som jeg bruker veldig mye. Hvis jeg må velge så er det kanskje at man må ikke la det beste bli det godes fiende.
In my younger days, I was very fond of Chinese words of wisdom, but I do not have a favorite quote that I use very much. If I have to choose, it may be that one must not let the best become the enemy of the good.

This summer we will have 3 weeks of cycling and camping in Italy. Starting on the mainland with Rome - Naples. Then ferry over to the south side of Sardinia, and cycling to the north side where we take the ferry to Rome. The family will then travel to Kazakhstan for a few weeks. I travel there to stay with them for the last 5 days before we travel home together again.
I have always loved cycling. I've never participated in a cycle race, but I enjoy bike rides and the experiences it provides. I have cycled on and across most continents, both on shorter f 1-3 weeks trips and for longer trips of 4-6 months. I met my wife on a 4-week bike ride I arranged in Kazakhstan in 2011, so thankfully we share that interest.
We have passed down our interest in cycling to our boys of 5 and 8 years, so they have already been on several bike rides home and abroad. In 2019 we were on a 5-week bike ride through Japan, when our youngest was 2 years old (became 3 in Japan), and it went very well with both cycling and camping there. The following year we had planned to cycle in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but due to covid we did a bike ride to Kristiansand and the zoo instead 😊
Since 2010, I have been on the board of the peace organization Bike for Peace. Here we work with arranging various peace trips around the world, where in addition to cycling, we visit schools, universities, peace organizations, religious leaders and heads of state to focus on non-violence and the humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons.
In Bike for Peace we have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize several times, and in 2015 we received The Gandhi Foundation International Peace Award. It was a memorable day with the awards ceremony in The House of Lords, in the British Parliament.
