For the past few months Thanh Nguyen has been writing her master thesis with support from our technical sales team in Stavanger. Thanh has worked with Cegal`s Geocloud solution, our geoscience software Blueback Investigator and Blueback Seismic Reservoir Characterization to support her inversion project using the Statoil Pcube. The project is a collaboration between the University of Stavanger and Statoil, with support from Cegal. The project has helped Cegal to strengthen the tools and workflows through a relevant research project on a challenging data set.
We congratulate Thanh with her performance and the completion of her Master degree in Petroleum Geoscience.
About Thanh Nguyen
"My name is Thanh Nguyen, a recently graduated master student of Petroleum Geoscience at the University of Stavanger 2014-2016. My master thesis project was 'Seismic inversion for lithology and fluid prediction of the Mikkel Field in block 6407/6, Norwegian Continental Shelf'. This project was data provided by Statoil AS and software supported by Cegal. My master thesis was graded A as it is a useful AVO application to support interpretation of reservoirs class II/IIp and an extensive workload from a qualitative to a quantitative seismic inversion model delivered within a short time frame.
Further I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cegal for providing the facilities to complete my project, and the technical geoscience team for their support. I would like to extend a special thank you to Ole Johannes Rossebø and Bruce Chalmers for their advice during the performance of my project".
