"I am very proud of the progress of our sustainability initiatives over the last year and look forward to including a process for impact of our products and services in 2021", says Nina Amdal Fiskaaen, Chief Strategy Officer in Cegal.

In 2020, Cegal launched a new strategy focusing on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues as an integral part of the business model.

The 2021 report describes the relevance of ESG factors in the industry that Cegal is operating in. The independent report assesses Cegal’s performance on key impact areas and is updated annually to monitor progress.*

The Energy industry is meeting increased demands for sustainable actions from governments, investors, and customers. As a cloud and software provider, Cegal can meet this demand by increasing the efficiency of energy companies' geoscience departments, which are the companies’ most data-intensive part.

The 2021 Sustainability Report defines four priority projects for Cegal that contribute to fulfilling the sustainability ambitions.

1. Contribution to the Green Energy transition

  • Cegal is providing digital technologies to support reduced emissions for our customers and focuses on diversifying the offering for the Renewables industry.

2. Net Zero

  • Cegal has created a roadmap for emission reduction and offsetting of indirect emissions with the goal of becoming a carbon neutral company by 2023 for own operations.

3. Women@Cegal

  • Cegal has launched an internal, female network to support gender equality and connect and equip all women in Cegal to shape the future workplace. Read more.

4. Signatory of Un Global Compact

  • Cegal is now a member of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Read more.
